Mac) Lang Pack (British): Add Display, Help, and Proofing Tools to Microsoft 365

VS Code detects the operating system's UI language and will prompt you to install the appropriate Language Pack, if available on the Marketplace. Below is an example recommending a Simplified Chinese Language Pack:

Mac) Lang Pack (British

Note: This topic explains how to change the display language in the VS Code UI via Language Packs such as French or Chinese. If you want to add programming language support, for example for C++ or Java, refer to the Programming Languages section of the documentation.

Use the Install additional languages... option to install more Language Packs from the Marketplace, or select a different locale from the list. Changing the locale requires a restart of VS Code. You will be prompted to restart when you select a locale.

Note: You must have the appropriate Language Pack installed for the language you specify with the command-line switch. If the matching Language Pack is not installed, VS Code will display English.

Although your Mac is set to display the language of the country or region in which it was purchased, you can choose a different language to use. For example, if you bought your Mac in the United States but you work primarily in French, you can set your Mac to use French.

It's easy to modify Visual Studio so that it includes only what you want, when you want it. To do so, open the Visual Studio Installer, and then add or remove workloads, components, and language packs.

Workloads contain the features you need for the programming language or platform that you're using. Use workloads to modify Visual Studio so that it supports the work you want to do, when you want to do it.

If you are still here, you probably need to install English pack. To do so, run the Visual Studio installer (the same one you used to install this version of VS ? ).On the tab Installed, click button Modify next to the version of Visual Studio you need the English language pack for:

Background:On the initial start of Mac OS 10.9, the operating system will prompt for a default system language. If this initial option needs to be changed later on, it can be done so through the system preferences application.Change System Language:Click on the Apple Menu on the top left of the screen. Then click on System Preferences.

I am not sure if languages get uninstalled when you reinstall LO. Worst case you have to uninstall LO complete and reinstall customize it and select only the languages you need. Size wise LO with all languages uses about 1GB, a few languages around 300MB to 500MB.

There is no uninstallation of languagepacks on Mac. They are installed by extracting an archive with the corresponding files into the LibreOffice-Application folder. The Installer is only used to find/pick the LibreOffice-Application.If you want to manually uninstall, you have to delete the files that are included in the archive. But deleting the LO and copying back from the dmg probably is faster & easier.

As you can see, changing a language on your Apple device on a per-app basis is possible by following the steps above. Best of all, you can quickly switch between languages, restoring your original settings in just a few clicks.

Some Web pages are available in a variety of languages and are displayed in the language you have set as your browser default. Configuring your Safari preferences so English is the default language ensures that content is consistently displayed in English, even if the page is written in another language. Language settings -- which determine languages for all apps, not just for Safari -- are in the System Preferences menu on your Mac and the Settings app on your iOS device.

Launch System Preferences from your Dock or Apple menu and then click "Language & Region." Ensure that "English" is present and listed as the "Primary" language at the top of the list on the left. If it is not, click "+" and add it, then drag it to the top of the list. Close your System Preferences window once your language is set. If Safari was open while you made the changes, quit it and then open it again to reset the browser to your new preferences.

Launch the Settings app, tap "General" and then "International." On the next screen, verify that "English" is displayed in gray next to the "Languages" header. If not, tap "Languages" and select "English" from the list of available language options. Your iOS device will return to the Home screen after a few moments and display the language you selected. You can launch Safari from here to verify Web pages are displaying in English.

And restart the browser to have the interface localized in French. Notice how the message is displayed in both languages, to provide users with another hint to the user that they selected the right language.

This feature is enabled by default in Beta and Release versions of Firefox. Language packs are not reliable on Nightly, given that strings change frequently, and a language still considered compatible but incomplete could lead to a completely broken browser (condition known as yellow screen of death, where the XUL breaks due to missing DTD entities).

First of all, there are still a few bugs to fix (you can find a list in the dependencies of the tracking bug). Sadly, there are still several places in the code that assume the language will never change, and cache the translated content too aggressively.

There are also areas of the browser that are not covered by language packs, and would need to be rewritten (e.g. the profile manager). For these, the language used always remains the one packaged in the build.

LibreOffice supports a wide variety of languages. This page gives an overview of the level of language support of LibreOffice. Furthermore, links are provided to language-related add-ons and extensions such as spell-check dictionaries, thesaurus and grammar checker.

Comprehensive language support comprises: (1) Localized user interface, (2) Localized help system, (3) AutoText list, (4) AutoCorrect list, (5) Spell-check dictionaries, (6) Hyphenation patterns, (7) Grammar check, (8) Thesaurus (synonyms).Additionally, there are document templates for a variety of languages: templates repository, AOO templates repository.

Your help in improving LibreOffice language support is highly appreciated. Please contact your language team: Languages and Localization, Language Teams and start translating LibreOffice or improve the spell-check dictionaries for your language.

In some cases, instructors can set a different language pack. If the language pack is enforced, everyone sees that language pack. For example, a Spanish instructor might force all users to view the course material in Spanish. If the language pack isn't enforced, you can set your language pack to another language, if available. Your language pack preference overrides the course language pack if the course language pack isn't enforced.

Next, launch the Photoshop app, which will still be in the default language. Go to Edit, then Preferences, and then click on Interface. Now, change the UI Language to English.

To alter the spellchecker language for the iWork suite, you must use the global settings in System Preferences on your Mac. However, any changes you make affect all three applications, which may be useful in some situations but not ideal in others. To change the spellchecker language for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, follow these steps:

All documents will now use the default option you selected. Additionally, text documents allow you to change the language For Selection, For Paragraph, or For all Text. To locate these settings, use the following steps:

The additional settings in OpenOffice and LibreOffice text documents grant greater control and make switching between languages simple. Furthermore, LibreOffice provides a For all Text option in most other project types.

The "official" language for Moodle is actually the Australian English (hey mate!), which is 100% the same as UK English. The default language on a new installation of Moodle, unless you change it, will be this version of English, denoted by the language code "en".

The second part, "_us" or "_mx" and "_ve" for example, represent localisations of the main language for a particular country or dialect. Typically these will include variant spellings and other preferred local terminology and phrasing. So "es_mx" has spellings and idioms (and a very important Decimal separator) used in Mexican Spanish which are distinct from international Spanish. The es_ve has small differences from the international Spanish that are of significance to Moodle users in Venezuela.

Language packs have maintainers and Moodle has its own language translation toolkit, known as AMOS. Other than some core languages maintained by Moodle HQ, most languages are maintained by volunteer maintainers.

Note you can only choose to set as default a Language pack that is already installed. If the language you want is not on the list, you will need to install the language pack first. See Language packs.

Correct. When you change to a new site default language, this does not update the language setting in the profile for already existing users. It only sets a new default for new user accounts you create from now on.

Yes, but be careful. You can make use of the customise language process. Basically copy the php files that contain the strings you want to change to the moodledata/lang/local folder. For example, copy the /lang/en/moodle.php file to someplace. Edit the file with a search and replace with whole word and case sensitive turned on, change Teacher to Instructor and Teachers to Instructors, do the same for teacher and teachers. Now copy that saved copy of the moodle.php file to the moodledata/lang/en_local folder. Be careful not to change the String name. 2ff7e9595c
