When we talk about your Facebook account being hacked, we mean your individual account has been hacked, not accessed as part of a larger data breach. That means someone has gotten into your account somehow, often by stealing your Facebook password or your email password. Once someone has access to your account, they can view all of your information and even lock you out of your own account. Here's how to tell if your account has been compromised.
facebook account hacked can 39;t change password
Click Edit next to "Change password," then enter a new, unique password. Having a password you don't use on any other site will ensure that no one can get into your Facebook account if your password was stolen from another site.
Click Edit next to "Use two-factor authentication," then select the type of authentication you'd like to use. Two-factor authentication will send you a security code by text message or two an authentication app when you log on. You'll have to enter this code as well as your password to log on. This means even if a hacker gets your password, they can't get into your account.
If a hacker has access to your Facebook account, you can run into a snag: they may have changed the password so you can't access it. If you're trying to log on to Facebook and find your password doesn't work, you should see a "Forgot Password?" option. Facebook will be able to send an email to the address associated with your Facebook account (or other options if they're available to you). From there, follow Facebook's instructions.

When your account is cloned, someone on Facebook is pretending to be you. But when your account is hacked, someone is actually using your Facebook account to be you. Though cloning is more common, you should check to be sure no one has access to your account. Here's how to check if your Facebook account has been hacked:
I have a different situation. Someone by a totally different name is using my email and phone number for their account. If I log out of my account and go back in and type in my username and password it takes me to their account and not my original?? What is that and how do I fix it?
We have an article that walks you through the steps to delete an old Facebook account. Though if it has been hacked, you may no longer be able to access it, in which case you will need to recover your hacked Facebook account first. If your account has been cloned, deleting your real account is probably a bad idea, because then only the cloned account will be out there. Instead, report the cloned account and get that removed first.
My account was hacked several weeks ago. The person was able to change my email address to his and he changed my name on my facebook profile and made it his name. All of my friends can see his name under my picture and it is creepy. I tried to report this with no help. I created a new page and now that has been disabled. I know it is tied to the hacking. How can I get around this?

Note that if you use the same login for your business and personal Facebook accounts, it also means your personal login credentials were compromised. So it is imperative that you change your password and, ideally, turn on two-factor authentication.
Enable two-factor authentication: If you haven't already done this, you should. Two-factor authentication prevents anyone from accessing your Google/Gmail account unless they're able to supply a secondary password -- one that's generated in real-time and delivered to your phone.
Change your password anyway: To reiterate: It appears this Gmail-spam thing is just a glitch and not some kind of hack, and people who have already changed their password were still seeing the issue. As a result, we do not recommend changing your Gmail password to address this issue.
But, if you insist: The fastest, easiest way to do that is to visit Google's password change page. If you're using your phone or tablet, you'll have to open a browser. You can't change passwords from within a Google or Gmail app.

According to an online survey among over 2,000 U.S. adults conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of Dashlane, the leader in online identity and password management, nearly four in ten Americans (39%) would sacrifice sex for one year if it meant they never had to worry about being hacked, having their identity stolen, or their accounts breached. With a new hack or breach making news almost daily, people are constantly being reminded about the importance of secure passwords, yet some are still not following proper password protocol.
In October 2013 Adobe was hacked and up to 30 million credit card details were stolen. Not pleasant, but alongside that around 150 million customer passwords were stolen, along with the corresponding email addresses.
Password reuse makes life easier, right? I mean, who wants or even needs to keep a bunch of useless information like multiple passwords in their head all the time? Seriously, who cares if your Twitter account gets hacked? All you do is request a password reset and clear up the junk- everything is fine and you can go back to normal.
Now, how about if your Twitter password is the same as your online banking login? Still no problem? Wrong. If a hacker manages to steal your password from one site, then if you use the same password across lots of sites they too can access those accounts.
While it is relatively easy to remember a handful of complex passwords for banking and social media, it is harder to remember them for the myriad of other accounts you might have. If this sounds like you then consider using a password vault.
Joe Carrigan: [00:07:18] It's not a problem. The problem is when you want to use it. Here's something I found really, really interesting in this article or in the trace. Forty-four percent of the Bitcoin they collected went to exchanges. Now, an exchange is, essentially, something where anybody can keep cryptocurrencies, right? So you can go out to an exchange and open up an account, but the problem with these exchanges - or not really the problem but one of the things with these exchanges is if they want to operate legally, they have certain identification requirements. You have to prove you are who you say you are. And 44% of this money went into those kind of exchanges. 2ff7e9595c
